Ancra International and Traction Technologies Unite
To Deliver Cinch, The Ultimate Winch
LOUISVILLE, Kentucky, USA. – Ancra International LLC and Traction
Technologies Inc. have teamed up to manufacture, market and distribute Cinch,
the ultimate, air-powered winch.
Unveiled in November, 2006, Traction Technologies’ revolutionary device, which
uses air pressure to tighten and maintain tension on load straps, will be
manufactured and distributed by global load securement innovator, Ancra
International. Traction Technologies will remain active in gauging market
response, while Ancra will handle sales.
The result, the two companies say, will pay big dividends for the entire load
securement industry.
“Together, we will bring to the market the full spectrum of winch technology, from
good to better to best,” said Ralph Abato, director of sales and marketing for the
Cargo Systems Division of Ancra International.
“With Ancra, a crucial improvement in our industry will now be widely available to
the flatbed hauling industry,” said Rob Owen, vice president of sales and
marketing for Traction Technologies.
Because Cinch allows operators to tighten their loads with just a two-button
operation, more drivers, regardless of size or strength, will be able to fill flatbed
hauling jobs than before.
Cinch, however, was initially developed to prevent load-shift related roll-overs.
Traction Technologies’ parent firm, Forensic Dynamics, one of Canada’s leading
forensic engineering firms, had studied such mishaps as part of its accident
reconstruction activities.
“Cinch improves load securement safety, which was our major goal,” said Owen.
But six-year-old Traction Technologies was focused primarily on design and
engineering. The firm, located in British Columbia, Canada, sought a
manufacturing and distribution partner with solid, mature relationships with trailer
original equipment manufacturers and an established, worldwide distribution
network to market its trademarked Cinch.
“Ancra was the company with the proven track record we demanded,” said
Owen.
“Traction Technologies is moving in the same direction we are here at Ancra,”
added Abato. “Both companies are working hard, every day to improve load
securement technology. With this partnership, you are looking at the entire
evolution of the winch, from the standard of 40 years ago to the future, which is
Cinch,” Abato said.
